Registrations are now open for ALDC's main campaigner training event of the year - KICKSTART - which takes place 26-28 November 2010.
Kickstart is for teams of volunteer campaigners - not just for those of us with elections in 2011, but also
great for people forward planning for 2012 and beyond. Every year we welcome teams and individuals from across the country who want to learn about how to win local elections.
The event has a great track record of success with teams who attend showing a better than average performance in the subsequent May's elections.
This year we're in Derby, at a great venue which used to be the British Rail Conference centre (pictured above), from the evening of Friday 26th November - lunchtime Sunday 28th November 2010.
The weekend consists of:
- training - over 20 hours of training on campaign techniques to suit all levels of expertise from complete beginner to experienced campaigner.
- mentoring - you and your team work together with an experienced campaign mentor throughout the weekend to work through your winning campaign plan
Don't worry if you are the only person who can attend from your area. We group individual delegates together to work in small teams with mentors.
Registration is online here.
The "early bird" rate has now passed, but pricing starts at £130 per delegate for the whole weekend (slightly higher for non-ALDC members, and the price goes up after 8th October 2010). Remember this price includes FULL BOARD hotel accommodation for the whole weekend.
We also have a limited number of half price places available for areas which are starting off (no councillors or councillors in only one ward) - get in touch for more information.
